Edouard Espana leads after Round 1 at the 2022 Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open mixed event.
St.Omer, June 30th 2022– France’s Edouard Espana has a 1 shot lead after Round 1 at the 2022 Hauts de France- Pas de Calais Golf Open co-sanctioned event with a 3 under-par 68. France’s Franck Daux, amateur Julien Sale and Italy’s Andrea Saracino are in a three-way tie for 2nd place at 2 under-par. In a tie for 5th place at 1 under-par: Davide Buchi, Sander Aadusaar, Theo Boulet (am), Eemil Alajarvi, Manuel Morugan and Vince Van Veen.
It was a difficult day with complicated scoring conditions for the first round of the tournament at Aa Saint- Omer Golf Club near Saint- Omer, France. It began as a cold, windy and overcast morning which then developed into a cold consistent rain throughout the afternoon until the sunshine started peeking through towards the end of the round. Play began at 7:30 this morning from both the 1st and 10th hole. The Alps Tour players are playing the golf course as a 6182 meters par 71. The LETAS players are playing the golf course as a par 73.
The 2022 Hauts de France – Pas de Calais Golf Open is a co-sanctioned tournament between players from the Alps Tour and LET Access Series. The event is being played on the same course with alternating tee times between the Alps Tour players and LETAS players. The players are competing for two different dedicated prize funds and thus trophies.
First Round Players Quotes-
Edouard Espana, France shot a 3 under-par 68 round with 4 birdies and 2 bogeys to have a 1 shot lead at the conclusion of the first round. After his round, he commented on how tough the conditions were today: “I’m very happy with my day, it was not easy today, there was a lot of rain, also the pin positions weren’t easy for a first round so you had to be very concentrated right away.” When asked which part of his game helped him the most during the round, Edouard commented: “I didn’t make any mistakes with my long game today, on this course you need to focus on hitting the correct part of the greens and forget the pins which is what I did today. My short game was crucial for putting together my score.” He also mentioned on how, “The course is difficult, you have to hit good shots and make good choices. You have to have your entire game very solid to have a round under par on this course. That’s what happened for me today and I’m very happy. Now I want to rest and concentrate on tomorrow’s round so I can be rested and refocused to start again with the same mindset and game plan.”
France’s Franck Daux shot a 2 under-par 69 round today with 3 birdies and a single bogey to be in a three-way tie for 2ndplace. He is currently playing a good stretch of golf and finished 3rd in the 2022 Open de la Mirabelle d’Or. After his round, Franck commented on his performance: “I’ve played here many times when it was a Challenge Tour event and I’ve had some success here over the years. I think I know how to manage the course, this isn’t the typical course we are used to playing. On every shot you need to be focused on how you want to execute it and where to place each tee shot. Also, being aggressive on this course will not reward you. I think it’s why I played well. It is a very strategic course.” He wants to keep the same game plan tomorrow considering similar conditions:“I just want to place some good tee shots and play safe and always remember that a par is good on this course.”
Julien Sale, French amateur and currently 2nd in the Order of Merit is also in the three-way tie only 1 shot off the lead with a 2 under-par, 69. He finished 2nd last week and is continuing his positive play this week. In today’s round, he had a steady front nine and then 3 birdies and 1 bogey on the back nine. After the round, Julien was very happy with himself, especially with how he dealt with his patience in the tough conditions he had to face. “The key of today’s round was patience. The course isn’t easy in good conditions so today I just tried to be very patient with myself and do one shot at the time and see what happens at the end, which turned out pretty good.” He is enjoying the opportunity to have the LETAS players compete on the same course as the men’s: “It’s really cool to have the ladies here, it’s cool to see them play the same course as we do and see how their score compares to ours.”
Italy’s Andrea Saracino is the final player in the three-way tie for 2nd place with a first-round score of 2 under-par. He commented at the conclusion of his round how: “The course is very difficult especially due to the weather conditions, the rain and the wind. The greens are very difficult but my putting worked really well today. I made a lot of clutch par putts and I’m happy with my birdie on the final hole.”
In a tie for 5th place at 1 under-par and 2 shots from the lead: Davide Buchi, Sander Aadusaar, Theo Boulet (am), Eemil Alajarvi, Manuel Morugan and Vince Van Veen.
There are 15 different nationalities represented among the 80 players this week. The players will be competing for a prize fund of € 40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner of the 2022 Hauts de France- Pas de Calais Golf Open will earn €6,400 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
LETAS-
In the LET Access Series tournament, two players share the lead at four-under 69. Momoka Kobori from New Zealand was the first one of the two to set the lead while Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt was the second player to sign her scorecard with the same score.
In the LETAS players field, there are 64 players represented. They are competing for LETAS Order of Merit points and their prize fund is set at € 40.000. After the round tomorrow, a cut will be made to the top 35 players and ties.
Round 2-
The second round of the 2022 Hauts de France- Pas de Calais Golf Open co-sanctioned event will begin at 7:30am from hole 1 and 10. After the second round, a cut will be made to the top 35 players and ties for both leaderboards, the Alps Tour and LETAS.

The players head back to France for the 2022 Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open mixed event.
St.Omer, June 28th 2022– The tour heads to back to the Northern part of France this week for the 2022 Hauts de France- Pas de Calais Golf Open co-sanctioned event. Being a co-sanctioned tournament with the LET Access Series, the field will be split between the players belonging to the Alps Tour as well as the LETAS. The tournament will be played from Thursday 30th June until Saturday 2nd July at Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club near Saint-Omer, France.
On Wednesday 29th June, the traditional shotgun pro-am will take place with approximately 26 teams. The pro-am professional field will also be split in half between the Alps Tour players and the LET Access Series players.
It is the first time that this event will be part of the Alps Tour schedule. In previous years, it was a MasterCard Tour event, a European Challenge Tour event, and a DP World Tour event.
The Field-
The majority of this season’s previous winners will be competing for the 2022 Hauts de France- Pas de Calais Golf Open title which include: Italy’s Gregorio De Leo, Netherland’s Koen Kouwenaar and Spain’s Manuel Morugan. French amateur Julien Sale, currently 2nd in the Order of Merit rank will also be competing alongside the rest of top 10 players in the rank except for current leader Tom Vaillant and 5th place holder Gary Hurley.
In an effort to affirm the golf club support for disabled golfers Adem Wahbi, one of the finishers of the Pas de Calais Paragolf Open, hosted in the spring at this golf course, will be in the field alongside the Alps and LETAS players.
Ukrainian amateur Lev Grinberg, who at 14 years old broke the record as the youngest player to ever make the cut at a DP World Tour will be participating. Grinberg currently resides in Belgium and trains in Florida during the winters. He has made numerous headlines throughout his young amateur career. When he was 13 years old, he advanced to the final Stage of US Open qualifying and looked to become the youngest to ever compete in a major championship. Unfortunately, he ultimately was unable to play and had to withdraw from the event.
There are 16 different nationalities represented among the 84 players this week. The players will be competing for a prize fund of € 40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner of the 2022 Hauts de France- Pas de Calais Golf Openwill earn €6,400 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. The format of the tournament is a 54 holes stroke play where a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 35 players and ties.
The Course-
Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club is located in Saint-Omer, France and opened in 1990. It is the only golf course in France that was designed by Dutch golfer, Joan Dudok van Heel. The course is a 6182 meter, par 71 course. It is placed in the middle of a natural site, with spectacular views of the Valley of the Aa. The course has an undulating terrain and is surrounded by trees that offer various different challenges to each player. Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club is ranked among the top 30 courses in Northern France. It is home to 27 holes: an 18 holes championship course and a 9 holes course which is ideal for beginners and players wanting to improve their short game.
It has hosted an annual professional tournament since 1997 belonging to different tours. In 2000 it became part of the European Challenge Tour. In 2003 it became an official DP World Tour event, however it was soon removed from the European Tour in 2014 as it was played the same week as the US Open. Thus, remained a Challenge Tour event until this year where it’s now a co-sanctioned Alps Tour and LETAS tournament.

Gary Hurley grabs his first win at the 2022 Alps de Andalucía.
Ayamonte, June 25th 2022- Gary Hurley wins the 2022 Alps de Andalucía with a total score of 18 under-par. French amateur Julien Sale concluded the tournament in 2nd place with a three-day score of 14 under-par. In a three-way tie for 3rd place at 12 under-par: Italy’s Andrea Romano, Carlo Casalegno and France’s Matthieu Caron, with Italy’s Gregorio De Leo just 1 stroke back in 6th place at 11 under-par.
The weather conditions have been constant throughout the days. When the first groups teed off, the temperature was slightly chillier with barely any wind. However, the temperatures quickly rose to a high of 27*. A persistent moderate wind picked up soon after the day began creating intricate conditions for the players. Play began at 8:45 am and the leaders group teed off at 10:02 am from the 1st hole.
Winner Quotes-
Ireland’s Gary Hurley wins the 2022 Alps de Andalucía by 4 shots. He shot a final round of 5 under-par, that included 2 bogeys, 1 eagle and 5 birdies. Hurley had a very successful amateur career before turning professional. He helped guide Great Britain and Ireland to victory at the 2015 Walker Cup and scored a runner-up finish at the 2015 European Championship. He has played consistently well since the start of the season and was just looking for a deserved victory. When asked about his game today, Hurley was very happy:“I’ve been playing very well this year, it was just a matter of having everything click. I was in a really good space this week. Probably the best I’ve ever been, today I controlled my emotions very well. I’m not surprised but I’m very happy.” On his last 4 holes of the day, he scored an eagle, birdie, par and birdie on the 18th hole to finish, at one point during his round today, he was unware to be tied with Sale, “I looked at the leaderboard on the 18th fairway for the first time today, I could see Julien was playing well ahead of me but I was just taking care of my business since I couldn’t control what he would do. I controlled my emotion and my execution really well. I was nervous but excited to test it today and feel the nerves.” This is his first official win as a professional and he was very satisfied:“It is my first win on the official world golf ranking, it feels amazing. Today was a great day for me even, if it hadn’t been with a win, I controlled my game and my emotions and I’m very pleased.”
French amateur Julien Sale concluded his tournament in 2nd place with a three-day score of 14 under-par, even though he experienced a tough draw during the 1st round having teed off in stronger wind conditions. After his round, he was very happy with the result of this week and how his game is evolving:“I still managed to make a good score during the first round in tricky conditions, then the 2nd day I managed to go low and get into contention. Today I knew I had to go low to catch the leader. I had a slow start but then managed to turn things around on the back 9 today. On the 15th hole I knew I was tied for the lead and that gave me a little boost. I’m very happy with the 2nd place and score some good points for the Order of Merit. I’m very happy with how many game is with a lot of good finishes, I hope to continue the rest of the year and hopefully a win.”
The tournament ends with a three-way tie for 3rd place at 12 under-par with Italy’s Andrea Romano and Carlo Casalegno as well as France’s Matthieu Caron. Just 1 stroke back in 6th place at 11 under-par, Italy’s Gregorio De Leo.
Tom Vaillant remains the current Alps Tour Order of Merit Leader after 12 tournaments. Thanks to his 2nd place finish this week, France’s Julien Sale (am) has jumped into 2nd place in the rankings. Italy’s Gregorio De Leo remains in 3rdplace of the current Order of Merit ranking.

Ayamonte, June 24th 2022- Netherland’s Davey Porsius and Ireland’s Gary Hurley co-lead at 13 under-par after two rounds at the 2022 Alps de Andalucía. France’s Matthieu Caron, Spain’s Jorge Maicas Redondo and French amateurJulien Sale are in a tie for 3rd place at 9 under-par. Current Order of Merit Leader France’s Tom Vaillant, Spain’s Victor Casado and Italy’s Carlo Casalegno are in a three-way tie for 6th place at 8 under-par.
It was another beautiful summer day with a pleasant temperature that welcomed the players at Isla Canela Golf Club, Valle Guadiana Links course near Ayamonte, Spain. Play began at 8:15 am from both the 1st and 10th hole. The scoring conditions were again more favorable for the players in the morning due to calmer wind conditions compared to the strong persistent wind that picked up in the afternoon.
Round 2 Player Quotes-
Netherland’s Davey Porsius is co-leading at 13 under-par after an amazing 8 under-par round today. Porsius had a few setbacks in his amateur career, however things changed in 2018 when he won the Twente Cup which allowed him to play in the KLM Open and then managed to qualified for the Alps Tour. He is still looking for his first win on the tour and hopes this week might be his lucky on. After his round, Porsius commented on how the golf course played completely different today: “It felt like a completely different course today compared to yesterday. Today it was just a slight wind from the opposite direction to what I played with yesterday afternoon. I’m hitting very good irons shots and with the wind changes it definitely helped me stay in control of my game.” Heading into the final round today, he has one goal in mind: “I obviously want to win, I need the points to get closer to the top 5. If I can keep hitting my irons like I did the last two days I know I can have a good shot at the win.”
Irishman, Gary Hurley shot a bogey-free 8 under-par in round 2 and co-leads at 13 under-par. He had a very successful amateur career before turning professional. He finished runner-up in the 2015 Spanish Amateur Championship and 2015 European Championship, as well as guiding Great Britain and Ireland to victory at the 2015 Walker Cup. Hurley has had a couple of top 10 finishes this season and his looking to breakthrough with a win. After his round today, he commented about the course conditions: “The course conditions were different today, the wind was completely different, and it switched back to yesterday’s wind when I had a few holes left. Obviously playing in the morning, I had less wind, yesterday was very windy during my round. I’ve been playing very steady the past 2 days. I’m happy with my execution of some of my shots so it’s a good two days.” When asked about his approach into tomorrow’s final round, Hurley explained: “I’m not going to do anything much different tomorrow than the past two days. I’m in a very good space and I’m looking forward to testing myself tomorrow. I’m excited to see what tomorrow brings, good or bad, I’m looking forward to it. There will be a lot to take away.”

Giacomo Fortini and Sergio Parriego lead after Round 1 at the 2022 Alps de Andalucía.
Ayamonte, June 23rd 2022- Italy’s Giacomo Fortini and Spain’s Sergio Parriego co-lead with a 6 under-par 66 at the conclusion of Round 1. Ireland’s David Carey, Italy’s Davide Buchi, Austria’s Uli Weinhandl, Spain’s Jorge Maicas, Netherland’s Davey Porsius, Ireland’s Gary Hurley and Spain’s Carlos Del Moral are in a 7-way tie for 3rd place, just one shot back after a 5 under-par 67.
A beautiful summer day with pleasant temperatures reaching a high of 23* welcomed the players at Isla Canela Golf Club, Valle Guadiana Links course near Ayamonte, Spain for the first round of the 2022 Alps de Andalucía. This is the 10th edition of this tournament even though it is the first time at this specific golf course. Play began at 8:15 am from both the 1st and 10th hole. The scoring conditions were more favorable in the morning due to the slight north breeze. In the afternoon the scoring conditions were more complicated for the players, because the wind switched and became a moderate and persistent south wind.
Round 1 Player Quotes-
Giacomo Fortini from Italy who represents Cus Ferrara GC co-leads with a 6 under-par 66 in Round 1. He is a past winner on the Alps Tour, having won the 2018 Cervino Open as an amateur. He has been playing consistently well since the beginning of the season. When he concluded his round, he proudly commented: “Everything went well today. I didn’t miss any tee shots today and my 2nd shots worked really well also. I like the course, it’s in good shape and the greens are fast. Today I played the front nine with barely no wind which was a good advantage over the rest of the field even if it picked up on the back 9, it was a good advantage. My goals aren’t any different this week than the rest. I want to keep playing well and focus on what I’ve been doing and let things happen when they are supposed to happen.”
Spain’s Sergio Parriego who is only 23 years old and turned professional 3 months ago is co-leading after a first round, 6 under-par 66. His round included an amazing eagle on the par 4, 6th hole. The rest of his round included 2 bogeys and 7 birdies, with 5 in a row on the back nine. Sergio is an Alps Tour member and this is his 2nd event of the season. He commented his round by saying: “I started on the 10th with two bogeys in a row but then had 5 birdies in a row playing perfect golf.” He was pleased with his round today and didn’t even realized what he shot at the end of the round. “I’m happy because basically I played the plan I had in mind, with a very good level. In fact, when I finished I was not even sure what I had done, I just knew I had played well. It was a shame to finish with a bogey but I can’t complain, I played at a very good round overall.”
Ireland’s David Carey shot a 5 under-par 67 round and is tied for 3rd place just 1 shot back of the lead entering Round 2. He turned professional in 2015 and since then has been an Alps Tour member. He has numerous top 3 finishes on the Alps Tour including a win at the 2019 Cervino Open. His round included 5 birdies for a bogey-free 5 under-par 67 round. After his opening round, David was pleased: “I was very solid from tee to green today, I should’ve been 2 or 3 shots better than my actual score but it is a very good start and I’m happy.” When asked about the golf course, “The course was playing different today compared to my practice round. When I teed off the wind was light from the north however after 7 holes it swapped to a south wind and it got stronger. Therefor I had to do a little bit of thinking to adjust to the changes.” He said he doesn’t have any specific goals for this week as he’s enjoying the course and wants to be relaxed and enjoy the golf.
Davide Buchi from Italy is playing his first year as a professional player. He shot a 5 under-par, 67 and is also in the 7-way tied for 3rd place just 1 shot back of the first round lead. Davide commented, “Today I hit my 2nd shots very well. I gave myself a lot of birdie opportunities. Even when the wind picked up, I kept hitting very good 2nd shots.” He also mentioned how he’s “enjoying the course a lot. Some greens are tricky to read and definitely as soon as the wind picks up the course becomes a lot harder.”
Tied for 3rd place alongside David Carey and Davide Buchi at 5 under-par and just 1 shot back of the lead, you can find: Austria’s Uli Weinhandl, Spain’s Jorge Maicas, Netherland’s Davey Porsius, Ireland’s Gary Hurley and Spain’s Carlos Del Mora.
Current Order of Merit Leader, Tom Vaillant’s golf bag unfortunately didn’t arrive on time for the first round of the tournament, therefore he had to play the first round with a set of rental clubs. Nonetheless, he was able to shoot a 3 under par round and be only 3 shots back of the lead.
Among the 140 players competing this week you’ll find 123 professionals and 17 amateurs from 18 different nationalities. They are competing for an overall prize fund of €40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points.

The Tour heads to Andalucía for the 12th event of the season.
Ayamonte, June 21st 2022- The tour heads to the south of Spain, near the Spanish- Portugal border for the 12th event of the season, the 2022 Alps de Andalucía. The event will be played at Isla Canela Golf Club, specifically on the Valle Guadiana Links course in Huelva, Ayamonte, Spain from June 23rd until June 25th. On Wednesday June 22nd, the traditional pro-am will occur. This year will be the 10th edition of the Alps de Andalucía, even though it is the first time it will be played at this golf course. Past winners of this event are now DP World Tour players, for example Lucas Vacarisas, winner in 2020.
The Field-
A strong field is expected this week for the 2022 Alps de Andalucía. All of the current Top 10 players in the Order of Merit rank are scheduled to compete, including the current leader and most recent back-to-back winner, French amateur Tom Vaillant. His most recent win at the 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà has moved him into the lead of the Order of Merit rank with a 5,457.66 points advantage over Netherland’s Koen Kouwenaar. Joining the top 10 Order of Merit players are all of this season past winners, except for Markus Brier, winner of the 30th Gösser Open.
There are 18 different nationalities represented among the estimated 140 players scheduled to play this week. The players are competing to earn a spot in the top 5 Order of Merit rank which at the end of the season, will give them access to the 2023 Challenge Tour. Furthermore, the players will contend for a prize fund of € 40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The tournament winner will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The format of the tournament is a 54 holes stroke play and a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 players and ties.

The Course-
Valle Guadiana Links by Isla Canela is a 6540 meters par 72 course, inaugurated in 2007 and designed by José Canales. The course is located on the left bank of the Guadiana River, which serves as the border between Spain and Portugal. The golf course is integrated into a Nature Reserve and part of the Costa Esuri Urbanization, in the city of Ayamonte in the heart of the Spanish Algarve. There are some spectacular views especially from the tee shot on the 7th hole.
The course is characterized by its wide fairways and Bermuda greens. It has a typical American golf architecture with a distinguished links style. The front nine holes of the course run through the estate with a large presence of pine trees. However, on the back nine the landscape opens where there is almost no vegetation and the holes run parallel to the river giving it a links style characteristic to the course. The prevailing winds from the Guadiana River makes it very unpredictable for the players.
It is sure to be a compelling week where players will be subject to a new course, and its subsequent conditions.

France’s Tom Vaillant wins back-to-back weeks.
Aravell, June 18th 2022– Tom Vaillant wins the first edition of the 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà with an outstanding 6 shots margin and a three-day score of 22 under-par. Eemil Alajarvi concluded his tournament in 2nd place with a total score of 16 under-par. Tied for 3rd place, you could find Vince Van Veen and Daniel Berna Manzanares, round 1 & 2 at 15 under-par.
The players had another beautiful summer day with perfect scoring conditions and a very hot temperature that reached near 40* for the final round at Aravell Golf & Country Club near Lleida, Spain. Play began at 8:00 am and the leaders group teed off at 9:28 am.
Winner Quotes-
French amateur, Tom Vaillant wins back-to-back weeks on the Alps Tour schedule. He won last week at the 2022 Open de la Mirabelle d’Or after a sudden-death playoff, and won this week by an outstanding 6 shots margin. He concluded with a three-day score of 22 under-par which included a bogey-free 8 under-par final round. He managed to remain bogey-free the entire week! During the three tournament rounds, he had 20 birdies and 1 eagle. Vaillant has become the new Order of Merit Leader. After his victory, he proudly commented: “I’m playing really solid. Everything went really well today especially towards the end of the round, when the majority of the putts dropped. I knew I had a few shots lead heading into 18 but I wanted to play smart. Two wins in a row, confirms all of the hard work I’m doing with my staff and family so it’s great.” When asked about his amateur status, Tom responded: “I’m definitely remaining amateur as of right now because I have some goals I want to achieve with the French National Team this year. I’ll probably turn pro at the end of this year.”
Eemil Alajarvi, who has been all week near the top of the leaderboard, concluded his tournament in 2nd place with a three-day score of 16 under-par. He had one of the highlights of the round today, with a hole-in-one on the par 3 9th hole. “It was a good week, I am very happy. My golf was very good all week. I will be competing next week and I’m looking forward to it. I want to improve my rank in the coming weeks and see what happens.”
There was a two-way tied for 3rd place at 15 under-par that included, Netherland’s Vince Van Veen and Spain’s Daniel Berna Manzanares. Gary Hurley who was in 4th place entering the final round, concluded his event in 5th place, 8 shots back of the win. France’s Julien Sale, amateur shot a final round of 7 under-par to move into 6th place.
Arthur Ameil-Planchin and Eemil Alajarvi had the highlight of the day by both making a hole in one during today’s final round. Arthur made a hole in one on the par 3, 12th hole and Eemil made a hole in one on the par 3, 9th hole.
Tom Vaillant is the new Alps Tour Order of Merit Leader. Koen Kouwenaar has moved into 2nd place and Italy’s Gregorio De Leo remains in 3rd place.
Final Round –
Tom Vaillant of the inaugural 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà, earned 6,525 Order of Merit points. As, Tom is an amateur player, the winners check of €5,800 was earned by Eemil Alajarvi.

Daniel Berna Manzanares and Tom Vaillant co-lead after Round 2 at the Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà.
Aravell, June 17th 2022– Spain’s Daniel Berna Manzanares and France’s Tom Vaillant are co-leading at the 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà with a 14 under-par at the conclusion of round 2. Eemil Alajarvi is just one shot back of the pair with a two-day total of 13 under-par. In 4th place, Ireland’s Gary Hurley with a total score of 11 under par. Vince Van Veen and Manuel Morugan are tied for 5th place at 10 under-par, only 4 shots back of the lead at the end of today’s round.
Another beautiful summer day with very hot temperatures welcomed players for the second round at Aravell Golf & Country Club near Lleida, Spain. Round 1 resumed at 7:30 this morning due to yesterday’s delays. Once the first round was concluded, Spain’s Daniel Berna Manzanares lead the field with a course record, 10 under-par 61. He held a 1 stroke advantage over Eemil Alajarvi who shot a 9 under-par 62 and a 2 strokes advantage over amateur, Tom Vaillant who shot an 8 under-par 63.
Round 2 Player Quotes-
Daniel Berna Manzanares, who was the first-round leader, shot a 4 under-par in round 2, for a two-day total of 14 under-par and is co-leading entering the final round. He turned professional in 2015 and has been an Alps Tour player since. After his round, Daniel commented, “I really like the design of this golf course, the par 3 are difficult and the par 5 are very fun to play. I think my strategy is what has helped me the most so far this week. I’m leaving myself a lot of shots between 120 and 160 which I really like.” When asked about his strategy heading into the final round, tied for the lead, he responded, “Tomorrow I want to enjoy it like I enjoyed it today and if I have some luck and win it will be even better, it’s been a good week so far and I’m happy.”
Tom Vaillant, last week’s winner, is co-leading after two rounds with a total score of 14 under-par. In round 2, he shot a bogey-free 6 under-par round. When Tom finished today’s round, he was pleased with his game even if he didn’t play as well as yesterday, “game was great, not as good as yesterday but still very solid. The course played slightly differently today due to the wind but I kept my same strategy and it definitely worked. Tomorrow I want to approach it the same as every other day, do my best, give 100% and never give up and see what happens.”
Manuel Morugan, winner of the 2022 Abruzzo Alps Open, shot the lowest round of the day with an 8 under-par 63. With today’s round, Manuel is tied for 5th place and 4 shots back of the lead. Manuel was very pleased with his golf game so far this week: “I played well both days. Today I just made a lot more putts because I played identical both days. Today I also tried to focus more on playing a good golf game compared to being focused on the results. It was a perfect day with perfect conditions to shot a good round of golf.” Manuel’s win came from 3 shots back so he knows what it’s like being in this position, “I am just going to focus on hitting the best shots I can hit and play my best golf. If I am able to do that, I know I will have a chance tomorrow.”

The final round of the inaugural 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà, will begin at 8:00 am from hole 1 and 10.
A total of 50 players including 7 amateurs made the cut which was set at -1 (141). The final group will tee off at 9:28 am from the 1st hole. The winner of the inaugural 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà, will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Eemil Alajarvi is the Clubhouse Leader as Round 1 is suspended for darkness at the Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà.
Aravell, June 16th 2022– Finland’s Eemil Alajarvi is the current clubhouse leader with a 9 under-par 62 as Round 1 was suspended at the inaugural Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà. Spain’s Daniel Berna Manzanares is also at 9 under-par, however he has 3 holes remaining to conclude his first round. France’s Tom Vaillant is just one shot back at 8 under-par. He holds a 1 stroke advantage over his fellow countryman, Franck Medale who is in 4th place with a 7 under-par 64 round. Netherland’s Vince Van Veen and Spain’s Josep Maria Serra Busquet who shot a 6 under par round 65 and are currently tied for 5th place.
A beautiful summer morning with a light breeze and temperatures reaching a high of 37* welcomed the players at Aravell Golf & Country Club near Lleida, Spain for the first round of the tournament. Play began at 8:00 am from both the 1stand 10th hole. The first round of the tournament was suspended at 5:02pm due to inclement weather in the area. Play then resumed at 8pm (2hour 57 mins delay). Another delay occurred at 9:23pm due to darkness. Round 1 will resume at 7:30am tomorrow morning.
Round 1 Player Quotes-
Eemil Alajarvi from Finland had a great round 1 to start his tournament here at the Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà. Today, Alajarvi shot a bogey-free 9 under-par round 62 and is the current clubhouse leader. He turned professional last year and this is his second season playing on the Alps Tour. After his round, Alajarvi commented on how well he played, “I would say I played well today. I hit many good shots and made many putts. I hit my long irons very well today. It’s normally not my strength but it definitely was today.” He also said how he’s enjoying the course and looking forward to the rest of the week, “I like this course a lot, the course is in good conditions and beautiful. I’m just going to try and keep going and enjoy every round without thinking about the leaderboard. There are still 2 rounds left so everything is possible”
Last week’s winner and current 2nd in the Order of Merit, French amateur, Tom Vaillant shot a bogey-free 8 under-par round and sits just 1 shot back of the lead at the end of round 1. Vaillant was happy with his game today, “I played really nicely today, my strengths were good today so it helped me be in position for birdies most of the time. The course is great, it’s in good conditions and it’s really cool to play here. My long game is fitting very well with the course so it’s helping me.” He also commented on how his win last week gave him a confidence boost but doesn’t change his mentality going into his week, “winning is always great and gives a lot of confidence but it’s a new week so I just restart the week with the same mindset.”
France’s Franck Medale, a past winner on the Alps Tour shot a 7 under-par 64 round and is currently in 4th place and only 2 shots back of the current clubhouse lead. After his round, he commented on how his strategy helped him with his round, “the course was playing well. You could be aggressive with some pins positions which helped me with my score. I putted well and placing my long irons off the tees well helped me put a good round together.”
Among the 130 players competing this week you’ll find 105 professionals and 25 amateurs from 19 different nationalities. They are competing for a total prize fund of €40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points.

The tour heads to Spain for the inaugural Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà.
Aravell, June 14th 2022– The Alps Tour heads to Northeastern part of Spain this week for the inaugural Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà. The tournament will be played from Thursday 16th June until Saturday 18th June at Aravell Golf & Country Club near Aravell, Lleida, Spain.
There will be two pro-am played this week: the opening pro-am will be played on Wednesday 15th June with an estimated 25 teams participating and the closing pro-am will be played on Sunday 19th June with an estimated 25 teams including the winner of the inaugural event.
This is the first time that Aravell Golf & Country Club will host a European professional golf event. This tournament was also created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the golf course.
The Field-
All of this season previous winners except for Markus Brier, winner of the 30th Gösser Open, will be competing for the inaugural Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà title. French amateur, Tom Vaillant winner of the last Alps Tour tournament and currently 2nd in the Order of Merit, will be in the field this week. In addition, Koen Kouwenaar who is currently the highest-ranked player in the Order of Merit, will also be competing alongside the top 10 players in the rank except for Conor Purcell.
There are 19 different nationalities represented among the estimated 136 players. The players will be competing for a prize fund of € 40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner of the inaugural 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. The Course-
Aravell Golf & Country Club is located in Aravell, Leida, Spain only 15 km from the Andorra Principality and 5km from La Seu d’Urgell. It is an 18-hole course designed by José María Olazábal, a two-times Masters Champion. The course will be played as a 6155 meters, Par 71. It is located in a large valley, with an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. The course has beautiful views of the Pyrenees as well as the Cadí mountains. Aravell Golf & Country Club is a compact and fun layout course, with narrow fairways, relatively small greens and spacious rough making it a challenging course for the players.
