This was the 5th edition of the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera after its previous three editions, which were hosted in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Final Round Quotes

Italy’s Andrea Romano, 25, who secured his first professional title earlier this year at the 2025 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar, claimed his second win in less than one month at this week’s 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera.Taking the lead after the second round, Romano closed out the final round with an outstanding 8 under-par 63 to end the tournament with a three-day total of 19 under-par. He got off to a blazing start with three consecutive birdies from holes 1 to 3, followed by steady pars on holes 4 and 5. Romano then birdied hole 6, eagled the par-5 7th hole, and capped the front nine with back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9 to post a remarkable 28. On the back nine, after a series of pars, he faced a bogey on the 14th hole but bounced back with a crucial birdie on the 17th, sealing his victory with a two-stroke margin. Romano also participated in last week’s DP World Tour Italian Open, further highlighting his rapid rise in professional golf. “I played really, really well today, especially on the front nine where I shot 8 under par without missing a single putt,” he said. Reflecting on today’s competition, Romano added, “It was a true honor for me to compete alongside Alvaro Quiros in the final round. He is a great player. I’ve known him since I was 17, when I had the chance to play a practice round with him at the Verdura Open on the DP World Tour. To be able to battle with him for the win today is something I will remember for a while.” Looking back at his recent form, Romano explained, “Playing the Italian Open last week helped me a lot because I played well, I finished, if I’m not mistaken, in the top 30, and it gave me more confidence competing out here. I know I can perform well; it’s a matter of confidence and abilities. If I can play well and have good results on the DP World Tour, it means I can do the same out here.” Concluding on a personal note, he said, “This win is for my family and mainly my mom, who has been there every step of the way. I will now enjoy it and refocus for next week.”

Spain’s Javier Barcos and Alvaro Quiros finished the week in a two-way tie for second place with a three-day total of 17 under par. In the final round, Barcos posted an impressive 8 under-par 63, while Quiros carded a 6 under-par 65.

Following the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa retains his position as the Order of Merit leader with 20,631.38 points. 4th July 2025 | Alps Tour Golf

Round 2 of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera ends with a three-way tie for the lead.

La Gomera, July 4th, 2025- After two rounds at the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, the leaderboard is tightly contested. Spain’s Alfonso BuendiaAlvaro Quiros, and Italy’s Andrea Romano share the lead at 11-under-par. Just one stroke behind, in a two-way tie for fourth place, are Spain’s Juan Salama Monsalve and France’s Paul MargolisJavier Barcos of Spain holds sixth place at 9-under-par, setting the stage for an exciting final day of competition.

The 2nd round of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera which is being played at the scenic Tecina Golf on the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands began at 8:00 a.m. local time. This is the 5th edition of the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera after its previous three editions, which were hosted in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Round 2 Players Quote

Spain’s Alfonso Buendia, 28, who was tied for fourth place after yesterday’s opening round, carded a beautiful 6-under-par 65 in today’s second round to move into a three-way tie for the lead with a two-day total of 11-under-par. He opened his round by making three birdies and one eagle on the front nine, and once he made the turn, the back nine became steadier, where he made one bogey before ending the day with two birdies in a row on holes 17 and 18.“I try to keep doing like I did the first round, as well as taking advantage of all the opportunities that came my way,” said Buendia“My mindset is really simple, shot by shot and hole by hole—so I can remain calm, stay in the present, and stay focused. On Hole 18, I had a short wedge into the green and about a two-meter putt for birdie, which I holed. It’s nice to finish off with two birdies. It gives me good momentum for tomorrow.”

Alvaro Quiros, 42, of Spain, joins Buendia in a three-way tie for the lead after carding a 5-under-par 66 in today’s second round, bringing his two-day total to 11-under-par. A seasoned veteran and seven-time DP World Tour Winner, with an additional victory on the HotelPlanner Tour, he turned professional in 2004. Quiros showcased his experience with a composed round marked by key momentum shifts. He opened with an eagle, a birdie, and two bogeys on the front nine, then added a birdie on the 10th hole before stringing together a run of pars. He closed out his round in style with three consecutive birdies on holes 16 through 18. “Today was completely different than yesterday, I wasn’t as sharp off the tee, and as a consequence, I didn’t have as many opportunities,” said Quiros“I turned it around with a nice long putt for eagle on hole 7. I was playing okay today. My putting was better, as I was able to hole a few long putts, so I must be happy about the past two days.” Reflecting on course conditions, he added: “Weather-wise, we’ve been extremely lucky. There was barely any wind—occasionally it picked up, but then it would die suddenly, so the golf course played under similar conditions for both rounds and both waves. I found some pins today to be slightly trickier, so you had to take a bit more risk on a few of them.” Quiros concluded, “Generally, I’m very happy with how I reacted to a poorer long game, but even happier with the state of mind I had the whole day.”

Italy’s Andrea Romano, 25, who competed in last week’s DP World Tour Italian Open and claimed victory at the 2025 Alps de Andalucía–Roquetas de Mar in June, joins Buendía and Quiros in a share of the lead after the second round of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, with a two-day total of 11-under-par. Romano got off to a strong start, making an eagle on the 3rd hole, followed by four birdies on holes 5, 6, 7, and 9. On the back nine, he made a lone bogey on hole 12 but quickly bounced back with a birdie on 13, before adding another on the 17th hole to cap off his round. “I’m really happy about today, I played really well,” said Romano“I’ve been solid off the tees and with my irons. My putting is okay, not as good as it was a few weeks ago when I was putting well, but overall I’m happy.” He added, “The greens here are tough to read with a lot of grain, so you need to be very careful about the breaks and, more importantly, trust your read compared to what your eyes might see. The course is in great shape, especially on holes 11 and 12, where you need to be careful as it can get windy.” Reflecting on his position, Romano said, “Being up there on the leaderboard is a good feeling. Two weeks ago, I won, and now my goal is to secure another victory to move into the top six, which would earn me an exemption and allow me to avoid Stage 1 of Q-School. However, now, I need to remain focused for tomorrow. There is a great leaderboard, and to be able to compete with Alvaro Quiros tomorrow and battle for the win will be special.”

A total of 45 players (43 pros, 2 amateurs) made the cut, which was set at 138 (-4).

The Final Round will begin at 8.30 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9:47 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.

The winner of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera will walk away with €6,200.00 and 6,525 points towards the Order of Merit standings.

La Gomera, July 3rd, 2025- After the opening round of the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera, Italy’s Marco Floriolileads the field with a 7 under-par, 64. In a tightly packed leaderboard, there is a two-way tie for 2nd place at 6 under-par between Spain’s Javier Barcos and veteran Alvaro Quiros. Just one shot back, France’s Quentin Debove joins five Spanish players: Juan Salama MonsalveAlfonso BuendiaBorja MartinJavier Calles Roman, and Hugo Esposito, all within striking distance in tomorrow’s second round.

On the beautiful Island of La Gomera, in the Canary Islands, the first round of the 202Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera played at the scenic Tecina Golf, began at 8:00 a.m. local time. This is the 5th edition of the tournament, following its previous three editions, which were hosted in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. The players were able to compete under perfect weather conditions, which favored good scoring opportunities as they began the tournament with sunny skies and light winds.

Tecina Golf has served as a launchpad for rising talent, some of whom have gone on to become stars on the global stage.

Round 1 Players Quote

Italy’s Marco Florioli set the early pace at the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, taking the First-Round lead with an impressive 7-under-par 64. The 20-year-old showcased his skill and composure around Tecina Golf, carding an eagle on the par-5 7th hole, six birdies on holes 3, 6, 8, 9, 16, and 17, and just a single bogey on the 11th hole. Florioli’s strong start puts him at the top of the leaderboard heading into the second round of the event. The 20-year-old Italian credited his precise approach shots for his impressive score. “Today, of course, everything went pretty well, especially my approach shots into the greens. I believe that’s the key to scoring well around Tecina Golf,” he said. Florioli noted that weather conditions added an extra challenge mid-round. “We began the day with no wind, then mid-round it picked up a little bit, and it became quite challenging in the middle part of the round.” Reflecting on his round’s highlights, he pointed to a key stretch of holes. “Today’s highlight definitely was the eagle on the 7th hole after a birdie and the two more birdies in a row, which helped a lot and kept the momentum going.”  He also credited the comfort of playing alongside a close friend for his positive mindset. “Today I played with one of my best friends, which helped a lot. I was at ease on the course and really enjoyed the day. That was a big part of today.” Looking ahead, Florioli acknowledged the importance of maintaining his performance. “To be at the top after the first round is very important. It feels good to be there, and hopefully, I can keep the same strategy in the next two days, and I will remain at the top.”

Javier Barcos, 23, from Spain, continued his strong season on the Alps Tour by firing a bogey-free 6 under-par, 65 in the opening round of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, moving into a two-way tie for second place. Currently ranked fourth in the Order of Merit and winner of this year’s New Giza OpenBarcos delivered a consistent and composed performance, carding six birdies on holes 2, 3, 6, 9, 14, and 17 to stay within striking distance of the lead. “Today was really good,” said the 23-year-old Spaniard. “I’d say I didn’t have a highlight; it was just solid playing during the whole round with no crazy shots or crazy long putts.” Barcos kept his card clean with no bogeys and showed confidence off the tee and on the greens. “I honestly didn’t have anything that I struggled with,” he added. “Maybe a couple of drivers, but nothing too bad.” While pleased to be in contention early, Barcos remains focused on consistency. “It is good to be at the top from the beginning, but the important thing is just to keep playing as you are and not try anything different, just be yourself for the next rounds coming up.” He credited his putting for giving him early momentum: “I started putting really good on the front nine; then on the back nine I didn’t make as many putts, but I kept playing very solid.” Looking ahead, Barcos remains grounded despite the prospect of another win. “It would be great to win again, but it honestly won’t change anything that I’m doing or that I’m planning on doing,” he said. “I’ll just keep working as I am and try to play as good as I can every week.”

Spain’s Alvaro Quiros, 42, joins Barcos in a two-way tie for second place after carding a 6 under-par, 65 in the opening round. The experienced veteran, a seven-time DP World Tour Winner with one additional victory on the HotelPlanner Tour, who turned professional in 2004, showed his class with a steady round marked by momentum shifts. He opened with back-to-back birdies on holes 2 and 3, gave a shot back with a bogey on 4, and bounced back with another birdie on 6. After a bogey on 7, Quiros responded again with a birdie at 9 before making the turn. On the back nine, he found his rhythm, adding birdies on 12, 16, 17, and 18 to cap off a strong finish and position himself firmly in contention heading into the second round. He leaned on his experience throughout the round and credited his precision from tee to green as the foundation of his performance. “Today my long game was extremely consistent, and it was the key to my entire round,” said the 42-year-old Spaniard. “I just missed one green throughout the entire day — on a par 5 where I tried to go for the green in two, and the ball rolled off and ended up in the bunker.” Despite competing at a different level this week, Quiros expressed appreciation for the opportunity to test himself against the Alps Tour’s rising stars. “I’m excited to be here this week. It’s a different level, but it’s incredible to witness how well the young generation of professional golfers are prepared,” he said. “Today I played with a player who is half my age, and to see how he played, how he acted, and how well he was prepared, it was incredible. To keep up and be able to compete with them, you need to have the tools — they are very competitive and prepared.” Looking ahead, Quirós acknowledged the challenge posed by our host venue, particularly around the greens, “this week at Tecina Golf, the tee shots are generous, but around the greens it’s very demanding, the putting and approach shots. Especially lately, those are my weak areas and not as competitive as they need to be, so it’s nice to really test my patience with it,” he continued. “Today and for the rest of the week, my main focus is to enjoy myself, it’s very easy here, the view is beautiful, the weather is great, and I’m going to be as patient as possible with my game.”

At stake this week is a total prize fund of €42,500 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera will walk away with €6,200.00 and 6,525 points towards the Order of Merit standings. Once Round 2 is completed, a cut will be made to the top 40 professionals and ties, plus amateurs within the cut.

The tournament will be played at the fascinating Tecina Golf from July 3rd– 5th 2025. On July 2nd from 10:00 a.m. local time, approximately 20 teams will participate in the Tour Scramble, Par is Your Friend Pro-Am.

It will mark the tournament’s fifth edition, following successful editions in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. These previous editions have helped establish the event as one of the most highly regarded stops on the Alps Tour calendar. The tournament was not held in 2024 due to renovations at the host venue, Hotel Jardín Tecina.

Tecina Golf has served as a launchpad for rising talent, some of whom have gone on to become stars on the global stage. The course has hosted 19 professional events to date, including eight HotelPlanner Tour tournaments between 2009 and 2016. Among its notable champions is major winner Brooks Koepka, who triumphed here early in his career, in 2013.

The most recent edition, held in 2023, saw Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero capture the title with a tournament-record score of 19-under par, the lowest winning total in the event’s history.

The Field

Nine of this season’s tournament winners are confirmed to compete at the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps de la Gomera. Among them are Switzerland’s Luca Galliano, winner of the season-opening 2025 Ein Bay Open; Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela, champion of both the 2025 Red Sea Little Venice Open and the 2025 Tunisian Golf Open; and fellow Spaniard Javier Barcos, winner of the 2025 New Giza Open. Also in the field are Asier Aguirre Izcue of Spain, who triumphed at the 2025 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON; Spain’s Jorge Maicas, winner of the 2025 Gösser Open; and Javier Calles Roman of Spain, winner of the 2025 Lacanau Alps Open. Italy’s Andrea Romano, who claimed the 2025 Alps de Andalucía – Roquetas de Mar, and rounding out the group is Netherlands’ Jerry Ji, the most recent winner at the 2025 Aravell Golf Open by Creand.

Eight players currently ranked within the Top 10 of the Alps Tour Order of Merit are scheduled to compete this week in the Canary Islands, with the exception of Order of Merit leader Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa and Spain’s Rocco Repetto Taylor.

Vecchi Fossa, winner of the 2025 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or, competed last week on the DP World Tour at the Italian Open, finishing tied for 10th place and earning an exemption into this week’s DP World Tour event in Germany, the BMW International Open, where he will be competing.

Repetto Taylor, who won the 2025 La Cigale Golf Open by Alps Tour in March, also captured the title at the 2025 Challenge de Cadiz on the HotelPlanner Tour and has since earned playing rights on the higher-level circuit.

As we are more than halfway through the 2025 season, players are eagerly competing to earn a spot in the top 5 Order of Merit rank, which at the end of the season, will give them access to the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour. As well as the leading 6 players (including amateurs) from the Alps Tour Order of Merit within a certain date defined by the DP World Tour, up to 10, not otherwise exempt, will get an exemption for the Stage 1 of the 2025 DP World Tour Qualifying School.

The 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera will be played as a 54 holes stroke play tournament where a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 professional players and ties plus amateurs within the cut.

The players competing this week will contend a prize fund of € 42.500 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner will earn €6,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

28th June 2025 | Alps Tour Golf

First-Time Winner: Jerry Ji Takes the Title at the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand

Aravell, June 28th, 2025 – Jerry Ji of the Netherlands secured his first professional victory at the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand, finishing with a total score of 14-under-par. Just three strokes behind, a three-way tie for second place at 11-under-par featured Spain’s Ruben Pardo Rodríguez and Javier Calles Roman, along with Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney. One shot further back, England’s Mason Essam and Spain’s Javier Sainz shared 5th place at 10-under-par, rounding out a tightly contested leaderboard.

This year marks the 4th edition of the tournament, originally created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Aravell Golf Andorra & Country Club, the host venue designed by two-time Masters Champion Jose Maria Olazábal.

Final Round Player Quotes

Jerry Ji, 25, of the Netherlands, who is competing in his first season on the Alps Tour, captured his first professional title at the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand. Turning professional in January 2025, Ji quickly made his mark on the Tour with various good finishes. His best result this season before this week was a tie for third place at the 2025 Lacanau Alps Open. With today’s win, he made a significant move in the Order of Merit standings; ahead of this week’s event, he was in 26th position and now finds himself in 10th place. Ji surged into a share of the lead after the second round and closed out the tournament with an impressive final round of 5-under-par 66 to finish with a three-day total of 14-under-par. His final round included seven birdies, on holes 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, 17, and 18—offsetting two early bogeys on holes 1 and 8. The two birdies on the final two holes proved decisive, sealing a well-earned victory in a tightly contested finish. Reflecting on the win, Ji said, “It’s amazing. To win any tournament is special, but to win my first tournament and have it be an Alps Tour event is such a cool experience. This win is for my entire family; they have been with me through the good and the bad times, so it’s definitely for them.” He continued, “Today I played my own game. A lot of good players were making a move, and it was tough, but I was lucky to make some clutch putts, especially on the back nine, and was able to remain in the lead.” Ji credited his solid play throughout the week, explaining, “Everything tee to green was very solid. Maybe what made the difference was my putting—I made a few more putts than usual.” Looking ahead, he said, “I’m excited to enjoy this win today. It’s been a lot of hard work, so I’m ready to enjoy it, but from tomorrow my focus shifts to the next tournament. It’s a new venue for me; I’ve never been there, so I’m excited to have a few good practice rounds and be ready to compete again next week.” Ji concluded, “This win is gratifying, but it doesn’t change my season goals. Jerry Ji and Giovanni Manzoni Co-Lead After 36 Holes at the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand

Aravell, June 27th, 2025 – After two rounds of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand concluded with a tightly contested leaderboard and a two-way tie at the top, setting the stage for an exciting final round. Jerry Ji of the Netherlands and Italy’s Giovanni Manzoni share the lead at 9-under-par through 36 holes following two impressive rounds of consistent play. Close behind, Spain’s Javier Sainz and Alejandro Aguilera sit just one stroke back at 8-under-par, keeping the pressure firmly on the leaders heading into Saturday’s decisive round. Today players competed under sunny skies and a very warm temperature.

This year marks the 4th edition of the tournament, originally created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Aravell Golf Andorra & Country Club, the host venue designed by two-time Masters Champion Jose Maria Olazábal.

Round 2 Player Quotes

Jerry Ji, 25, of the Netherlands, continued his steady climb up the leaderboard at the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand. After opening with a 5-under-par, 66 to sit in a tie for sixth place, Ji backed it up with a composed second-round 4-under-par, 67 to move into a share of the lead at 9-under-par heading into the final round. His round included five birdies and just a single bogey, underlining a day of solid course management in breezy conditions. “I played solid all around today,” Ji said. “It was hot and windy, so I managed my game well, and I’m happy about that.” One of the highlights of his round came early when he hit a 3-iron from 215 meters on the par-4 4th hole within 10 feet. “That was definitely the shot of the day,” he added. Unlike some of his fellow competitors, Ji wasn’t fazed by the heat. “For me, the heat didn’t play a part today. I just tried to drink enough water, but honestly, the weather was perfect.” Heading into the final round with a share of the lead, Ji remains focused on keeping things simple. “I’ll just focus on my own game tomorrow and play the best I can and hopefully it’ll be good enough at the end of the day.”

Italy’s Giovanni Manzoni, 25, moved into a share of the lead after round two of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand with a two-day total of 9-under-par. Although still searching for his first win on the Alps TourManzoni has recorded multiple top-5 finishes and continues to show strong form. After opening with a 3-under-par 68, he produced a flawless, bogey-free 6-under-par 65 in round two, featuring two birdies on the front nine and four on the back. “Today was a good day, I managed to play consistently on the front nine, where I made two birdies and seven pars,” said Manzoni“On the back nine, I started to struggle a bit more, but I managed to save some great pars that gave me the momentum to finish with three birdies.” While many players noted the challenging weather conditions, Manzoni found a way to adapt. “It was very hot and humid today, but playing in shorts really helped,” he added. Looking ahead to the final round, Manzoni remains grounded and focused. “Of course, winning my first tournament would be great, but that shouldn’t affect me too much,  I’ll try to do my best and take whatever comes. Tomorrow, the goals remain the same as the past two days: focus on one shot at a time and try to play consistently.”

Spain’s Javier Sainz, 32, who sat in solo third place after the opening round of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand, now finds himself in a share of third place alongside fellow Spaniard Alejandro Aguilera with a two-day total of 8-under-par. Following an impressive opening round of 7-under-par 64, Sainz carded a 1-under-par 70 in the second round, which included five birdies and four bogeys. A former Alps Tour member, Sainz advanced to the HotelPlanner Tour, formerly known as the Challenge Tour—where he captured his first title at the 2022 Farmfoods Scottish Challenge“I played well today, very similar to how I played yesterday, but the big difference was my putting,” Sainz admitted. “Today my putting was terrible, probably one of the worst putting days I’ve had lately. I’m looking forward to improving that and getting back to where it was yesterday to try and put together a low score tomorrow. For the final round, I just want to focus on playing my own game and definitely keep being patient. The weather affected me a little bit today. It’s very hot, and you need to stay focused. It was a little more difficult for me especially on the back nine to keep my concentration on every shot.”

A former winner on the Alps Tour after claiming the 2024 Croara Alps Open, Spain’s Alejandro Aguilera, 25, made a significant move up the leaderboard in round two of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand. Starting the day tied for 40th place following an opening round of 1-over-par, Aguilera produced a brilliant 7-under-par 64 to vault into a two-way tie for third place at 8-under-par overall. Beginning his round on the first tee, he picked up birdies on holes 2, 5, and 7 before dropping a shot at the 9th hole. After making the turn, he went on a birdie run from holes 11 through 14 and closed out with a final birdie on the 18th hole. “It went really smoothly,” Aguilera said after his round. “I hit the ball very well today, especially with my irons.” Reflecting on the improvement from his opening round, he explained, “Yesterday I didn’t hit the ball that well, so I made a few adjustments after the round, and they really helped me strike it much better today.” With temperatures soaring, Aguilera acknowledged the conditions played a role: “The heat definitely had an impact—the ball was flying a lot more, and we had to stay more hydrated than usual.” Currently in strong contention heading into the final round, Aguilera remains focused and hungry for a second title. “It feels great and really motivating,” he said. “I was in a similar position in Tabarka, but the final round was suspended, so I didn’t get the chance to fight for the win.” As for his approach heading into tomorrow: “I’ll keep focusing on the same things I’ve been working on over the past year and give it my absolute best.”

A total of 46 players made the cut which was set at 141 (-1). The Final Round will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9:17 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.
In the event of a tie at the end of the final round, the winner will be decided by a sudden-death playoff.

The 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand winner will take home €6,200 and earn 6,525 points toward the Order of Merit standings.

Ignacio Arcaya and Javier Calles Roman Share Lead After Day One at 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand.

Aravell, June 26th, 2025 – After the first round of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand, the leaderboard is tightly packed with exciting contenders. France’s Ignacio Arcaya and Spain’s Javier Calles Roman share the lead, both carding an impressive 8-under-par 63. In solo third place is Spain’s Javier Sainz at 7-under. Just one stroke back, a two-way tie for fourth place features fellow Spaniards Ruben Pardo Rodriguez and Manuel Morugan, keeping the competition fierce early on.

The first round of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand teed off this morning at 8:00 a.m. local time at Aravell Golf & Country Club, near Aravell in Lleida, Spain. Players began from both the 1st and 10th tees under mostly sunny skies; however, a persistent wind picked up during the afternoon, making conditions significantly more challenging.

This year marks the 4th edition of the tournament, originally created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Aravell Golf & Country Club, the host venue designed by two-time Masters Champion Jose Maria Olazábal.

Round 1 Player Quotes

France’s Ignacio Arcaya, 24, who is still seeking his first victory on the Alps Tour despite multiple top-10 finishes, co-leads after the opening round of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand with an impressive 8-under-par 63. His standout round included an eagle on the par-5 4th hole, eight birdies on holes 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 14, and 18, and a single bogey on the 15th hole. Reflecting on his performance, Arcaya said, “It was a very solid round. I made a couple of long putts at the beginning which got the round going in the right direction. From there it was about executing the game plan and staying aggressive.” He highlighted his birdie on the 9th — “a long par 3” —as a key moment, adding, “Making a 10-meter putt for birdie there was a bonus.” Arcaya credited his all-around performance and comfort with course conditions: “Today every part of the game was solid, so I will try to keep doing what I am doing. The conditions were ideal today. I found the greens to be a bit faster than during the previous days, so had to adjust for that.” Looking ahead, he noted, “My main focus for the next few days is to commit to my shots and my strategy.”

Javier Calles Roman, 23, from Spain, co-leads the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand after posting a fabulous 8-under-par 63 in the opening round. The young Spaniard, who secured his first professional title earlier this year at the 2025 Lacanau Alps Open, made 10 birdies and just two bogeys on the challenging, windy afternoon — bogeying holes 5 and 9. Calles Roman turned professional in May 2024 and has quickly made his mark on the tour. Reflecting on his opening round, he said, “It was a really great performance tee to green today. I left myself plenty of chances, which was the key.” Despite the challenging conditions, he remained confident: “The wind picked up a lot, which changed the strategy on some holes for me, but I stayed aggressive and didn’t let the situation affect me.”Looking ahead, Calles Roman emphasized the importance of maintaining focus. “It’s obviously very nice to be on top early. It sets the goal for the rest of the week. My focus for the rest of the week will be to keep focusing on myself and my strategy and be ready to adapt if situations or conditions change.” He added, “I have it in my mind all the time to try and win a second tournament this season. That’s all I think about—it helps me focus and play aggressively. Let’s see what happens this week. It’s a great start.”

Javier Sainz, 32, of Spain, holds third place after an opening round of 7-under-par 64. Starting on the 1st hole, Sainzcarded five birdies on the front nine. After making the turn, he added three more birdies and a single bogey to close out an impressive first round. “It was a solid game tee to green,” Sainz said. “I’m happy to put a low score in the wind this afternoon. The highlight of the day may have been the good birdie I made on Hole 8 from 192 meters,” he said. “I hit a bad drive left, but after that, I hit the best shot of the day.” A former Alps Tour member, for several years before moving up to the HotelPlanner Tour, formerly known as the Challenge TourSainz has won the 2024 Spanish Professionals Championship and the 2023 II?Barcelona Open by Pablo Larrazábal. He also claimed his first HotelPlanner Tour victory at the 2022 Farmfoods Scottish Challenge. Looking ahead, Sainz plans to stick to his process. “For the next two days, I’ll just focus on every shot and keep playing my own game,” he said. “Every week for me is the same no matter what tour I’m competing on, but maybe the experience I have helps me to be calmer in certain situations.” He added: “Being back in contention is amazing for me because I needed a low round to believe more and more in my game.”

Spain’s Ruben Pardo Rodriguez, 23, sits in a two-way tie for fourth place after firing a 6-under-par, 65 in the opening round of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand. His round featured an eagle on the par-5 4th hole, seven birdies on holes 2, 3, 5, 7, 13, 14, and 18, and three bogeys on holes 1, 9, and 15. “It was a really good round, solid from the tee and I stayed patient with the putter,” Pardo Rodriguez said. He pointed to a hot stretch between holes 2 and 7, where he went to six under par, as the highlight of the day, especially with the eagle on the 4th“The truth is that I’m very happy with my tee shots, I think it’s the most important part of my game on this course,” he noted. “Today’s performance gives me confidence going into the next rounds. The key now is to play with the same belief I had today and give myself a chance on Saturday.”

Alongside Pardo Rodriguez, in the two-way tie for 4th place with a first-round score of 6-under-par 65, is fellow Spanish player Manuel Morugan, 34. During his opening round, he made five birdies on the front nine and added two more birdies and a single bogey on the back nine to close out his day. Morugan, a past winner on the Alps Tour, reflected positively on his performance: “It was a good round! My game was very solid in all aspects, and having my mental coach here with me this week helped a lot.” Focused more on process than the position, he added, “For me, it’s not important to be at the top, what matters is doing things correctly and following my process. If that leads to being on top or close to the top of the leaderboard, then that’s even better.” He emphasized that everything felt in sync today: “Everything was perfect today, and the focus now is to maintain that same mindset and keep working on the things I’ve been practicing.”

Christos Pantazidis, 22, from Greece, is in a 6-way tie for 6th place after the first round of the 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand. He shot a bogey-free 5-under-par 66, making two birdies on the front nine and three more on the back. “Today the conditions were great, and I played flawless golf,” said Pantazidis“I hit 18 out of 18 greens in regulation and missed only two fairways.” He highlighted his second shot on the par-5 18th, an accurate 3-wood that set up an easy two-putt birdie, as the standout moment of the round. Looking ahead, he emphasized the importance of his early momentum: “Putting yourself on top of the leaderboard early is important, it gives you confidence and makes it easier to stay there.” As for his strategy, Pantazidis plans to “focus on playing steady golf, giving myself birdie opportunities, and staying in the present which is also key.” He also noted that the layout of Aravell Golf & Country Club suits his game: “This course demands accuracy off the tee, and that’s one of my strengths.”

Joining Pantazidis in the 6-way tie for 6th place at 5-under-par 66: Italy’s Luca Cavalli and Davide Buchi, France’s Augustin Holé and Baptiste Achard as well as Jerry Ji from the Netherlands.

The 2025 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand is contested over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 professionals and ties, along with any amateurs within the cut line. In the event of a tie at the end of the final round, the winner will be decided by a sudden-death playoff.

Metz, June 15th, 2025- Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa maintained his lead to claim victory at the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, finishing with a three-day total of 13-under-par. Just one stroke behind in solo second place was fellow Italian Luca Memeo, while France’s Julien Quesne secured third place with a total score of 11-under-par. Rounding out the top five, a three-way tie for fourth place at 10-under-par featured Italy’s Flavio Michetti, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, and France’s Augustin Holé.

The Final Round of the 22nd Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or at Golf Domaine de la Grange aux Ormes, near Metz, France, began at 9:25 a.m. local time with a two-tee start from the 1st and 10th holes. However, at 10:13 a.m., play was suspended due to thunderstorms in the area. Following a delay of just over two hours, play resumed at 12:30 p.m., and the leaders teed off at 1:14 p.m. local time.

Final Round Player Quotes

Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, 30, from Italy, returned to the winner’s circle at the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or. He has previously earned multiple victories on the Alps Tour, including winning the 2021 Alps Tour Order of Merit, which granted him status on the now HotelPlanner TourVecchi Fossa surged into the lead after the second round and closed out the tournament with a 2-under-par 68 in today’s final round, finishing with a three-day total of 13-under-par. He delivered a steady performance on the final day, carding birdies on holes 4, 6, and 12, before closing with an unfortunate bogey on the 18th hole to secure the win in a tightly contested leaderboard. With today’s victory, Vecchi Fossa moves to the top of the Order of Merit standings and reflects on his composed approach to the final round. “Today I began my round just trying to hit the greens and make two-putts for par—that was my mindset,” he said. “I made two good birdies on the front nine, and after hole 11, it was the first time I looked at the leaderboard. I saw I was tied for the lead with Memeo, but my focus was still on shooting the lowest round I could, not on what the others were doing. I made some clutch par putts coming in, which is always a nice feeling.” Reflecting on the final hole, he added, “On 18, I was in the fairway and knew I had a two-shot lead. The pin was short left, and I hit the green on the right side. I had about a 30-meter putt and unfortunately three-putted, but it was okay. I played a bit more conservatively today compared to the first two rounds, but overall, it was a great week and a great tournament. I’m very happy to be back in the winner’s circle.” Vecchi Fossa closed by dedicating the win to those closest to him: “This win is for my team, my family, and my girlfriend Matilde. They are with me through the good times and the bad.”

Fellow Italian Luca Memeo, just 19 years old, delivered an impressive final round of 5-under-par 65 to finish the tournament in solo second place, just one stroke shy of the win. He got off to a blazing start with four consecutive birdies on holes 1 through 4, then added an eagle on the par-5 10th hole. Despite a bogey on the 16thMemeo handled the pressure with maturity, securing his best professional finish to date.

France’s Julien Quesne,44 claimed solo third place with a total score of 11-under-par. The experienced pro posted the lowest round of the day, a bogey-free, 8-under-par 62, making a strong charge up the leaderboard.

Following the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa is the new Order of Merit leader with 20,631.38 points. In 2nd place, was Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela with 17,472.75 points, and in third place was France’s Quentin Debove with 15,598.65 points.

Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, winner of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, earned the winning check of €6,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa Surges Into the Lead at the 2025 Open de la Mirabelle d’Or.

Metz, June 14th, 2025- Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa surged into the lead after Round 2 of the 2025 Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or, posting a two-day total of 11-under-par. He holds a four-shot advantage over a trio tied for second at 7-under: France’s Augustin Holé, Ireland’s Robert Moran, and Luca Memeo from Italy. Just one stroke behind them, a three-way tie for fifth place includes Spain’s Jorge Maicas, French amateur Rodolphe Cicala, and Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, setting the stage for a tightly contested final round in Metz.

Round 2 of the 22nd Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or took place today at Golf Domaine de la Grange aux Ormes, near Metz, France. Play proceeded under sunny skies and steadily increasing temperatures, providing stable conditions for the competition.

Round 2 Player Quotes

Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, 30, who won various events on the Alps Tour as well as capturing the 2021 Alps Tour Order of Merit title, which allowed him to gain status on the now HotelPlanner Tour, leads after two rounds with a two-day total of 11 under-par. He followed his opening round of 4-under-par 66 with an impressive 7-under-par 63, carding birdies on holes 1,3,4,7,8,11,12, and 17 with his only bogey of the day came on hole 10. Reflecting on his performance, Vecchi Fossa said, “My round today began straight away well as I made birdies right away on holes 1, 3, and 4. My game was good, as well as my putting, I had good feelings all around. Today I also nearly made a hole-in-one and holed out from a greenside bunker, so let’s say it was an untypical round. I only missed one shot throughout the entire day on the 10th hole where I made a bogey, but after that, I was able to make some crucial putts coming in for birdie to sign for my 7-under-par.” Vecchi Fossa added: “Tomorrow, I will play against the course and not the rest of the field, aiming to hit the fewest shots and maintain the momentum I had today. I have good feelings and will bring them into tomorrow’s round. I won’t look at the leaderboard, focus on my game, and see what happens once we end the round.”

Augustin Holé, 27, of France, winner of the 2023 Alps Tour Grand Final, moved into a tie for second place with a two-day total of 7-under-par. Holé followed his opening round of 4-under-par, 66 with a 3-under-par, 67 in the second round. Starting on the 10th hole, he opened with a triple bogey but recovered quickly, carding birdies on holes 12, 15, 16, and 17, along with bogeys on 13 and 18. After making the turn, he added four more birdies on holes 3, 4, 6, and 8 to close out his round, crediting a strong mental approach and consistent execution. “It went well, especially after my triple bogey on 10 and bogey on 13,” he said. “I tried to stay in the present—that’s something I’ve been working on recently, focusing shot by shot without worrying about the leaderboard, and I’m happy I was able to do that today.” Holéhighlighted his putting and accuracy on the back nine as key factors, noting, “My putting was extremely solid, and I didn’t miss any greens so that helps. I don’t hit a lot of drivers here. My focus is hitting fairways and greens because once you miss either, it’s not that easy. But when you’re in the fairways, you can take advantage of the opportunities.” Looking ahead, Holé plans to stick with the same approach: “Tomorrow will be the same, hit good shots, play smart golf without doing anything special—and if the putter gets going, you can score quite low out here. Then the focus remains on myself and what I can control. You can’t control what anyone else does. Now I’ll rest, prepare for tomorrow, and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the round.”

Joining Holé in a three-way tie for 2nd place with a score of 7 under-par: Ireland’s Robert Moran and Italy’s Luca Memeo.

A total of 50 players made the cut which was set at 140 (Par).

The Final Round of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or will begin at 9:25 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The leaders will begin their last round at 10:53 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.

The winner of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, will earn the winning check of €6,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
