Cohen-Boyer leader in Guadeloupe
Frenchman Louis Cohen-Boyer (-4) is the leader of the Open Saint-François Région Guadeloupe after round 1.
He is followed by Guillaume Cambis (FRA) and Raphael Marguery (FRA) who are both one stroke behind at -3.
« This morning, when I woke up, I though the wind was going to be pretty hard. So I thought that any good score under par would just be already pretty good. It’s getting pretty tough, so I feel like I’m pretty happy » Cohen-Boyer said. « Two more rounds, I feel like I haven’t done even half or a third of what I have to do so I have to keep focused and play just like I played today, get some good rest, drink some water and I should be good to go tomorrow morning » he added.
« It was pretty tough this morning with all the wind » Guillaume Cambis (FRA, -3) said. « I played very solid, I did not find have a bad shot today, I was close to finding every fairway, every green, I did not miss a lot of shots, so you know, I had a pretty good round and I hope it’s going to be the same for the rest of the weekend » he added.
Weather conditions were partly cloudy with high winds and a temperature of 30s.
This year marks the 8th edition of the tournament at the Golf International Saint-François.
The Open Saint-François Région Guadeloupe continues tomorrow with round 2. First tee time is at 6h45 local time.
