325

England’s Jack Senior grabbed his maiden win in a tremendous way. He holed the last three holes to go into a play-off and defeated Spain’s Jesus Legarrea after first extra hole. Italy’s Mattia Miloro finished at third place after shooting solid 68 ‘ under par.

Jack Senior turned pro last September after a brilliant amateur career and a victory against USA with Walker Cup team as culmination. Before than he had started the 2011 season in spectacular fashion by winning the prestigious New South Wales Matchplay Championship, the Lytham Trophy and the Hampshire Hog. In August 2011, Senior reached the semi-finals in the US Amateur Championship.

Jesus Legarrea had a 3-shot-advantage at -11 over Englishman and still had this margin 3 holes before the end of the day. But Senior who already missed first place this season didn’t seem to want to leave with this feeling again. He recovered his famous aggressiveness that gave him great results last year. He holed birdies on the last three holes and playing partner could only watch the show. Senior continued to forge ahead and only needed one extra hole to crucified his opponent with a birdy.

Jack Senior confirmed his leadership on the 2012 Alps Tour and increased his advantage at the Order of Merit.
