Gösser Open presented by Martin Wiegele – 20th Anniversary

This week, the Alps Tour celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Gösser Open presented by Martin Wiegele at Golf Club Erzherzog Johann Maria Lankowitz. Although “presenter” Martin Wiegele missing after the first of his two hip surgeries, the start will be done tomorrow at 7.30 am.

Austrian Challenge Tour players, Thomas Feyrsinger, Florian Prägant and Roland Steiner will take part. Alps Tour members Jürgen Maurer and Uli Weinhandl complete the circle of favorites from the local professional field.
Austria is also represented by its amateur team: Manuel Trappel, who won the Individual European Championship last year in Sweden, the Graz brothers Luke and Tobias Nemecz and the talented Robin Goger.
The Gösser Open has a strong international field as well, the two English Challenge Tour players Matthew Cryer and Jason Palmer and the Spaniard Juan Antonio Bragulat, who won the Gösser Open in 2010.

Martin Wiegele says “A lot of players can win the tournament because the level of play is very high. I would be very happy if this year an Austrian player wins the Open. That would make me a little consolation for my spectator role.”
