Raillard shines in wind

France’s Tony Raillard, 25 year old, shows how to deal with tricky Haut Poitou golf course. He signed for 69, 4 under par this morning. Solids players are only one stroke back, Fellow Guillaume Cambis and Italian Andrea Rota.

Weather was an adding difficulty to the play today. Morning was cloudy and windy and calm from tee to green was required for players. Raillard did succeed in adapting his golf and felt very happy with his accomplished goal.

“I did well well today on course. I decided to train for Q school and I only want to play in France, Alps Tour and Challenge Tour as I have a good Allianz Tour category. It is as difficult to get sponsors on Alps Tour than on Challenge Tour so the target is the main Tour.”

Guillaume Cambis, 3rd on the Alps Tour ranking but still missing a victory, shot a great 70 but seemed unhappy with that score. He kept on grumbling about himself and confessed :
“I’ve been thinking of the win every single day for 2 months. It is really wearing. I play well but I do not hole any putt. I hit 15 or 16 greens but I only birdied the 2nd hole. I feel exhausted about this lack of chance.”

On the opposite, Andrea Rota seemed to have more and more pleasure to play golf and was very happy with 70 as well. He played in the afternoon in much more tougher conditions.

“I have been playing well for a few weeks now. I manage to stay relax on course and to play shot after shot. Last Monday and Tuesday, I have played Italian PGA Championship by double and we finished 2nd with Alberto Campanile. I feel good and my putting is extremely solid. I really enjoy been on course.”

The projected cut is +4.
